Founded in the 12th century, the Abbey left its mark on the valley of Abondance. A place where the monks lived, the monastic buildings still bear witness today to the power of the Abbey in the Middle Ages.
Transported to medieval Savoy thanks to the 15th century mural paintings that adorn the cloister, you will be seduced by the tranquillity of the place.
The exhibition “From history to art: sacred heritage in the Abondance Valley” invites you to explore, in part of the former monastery, the collection of sacred art composed of exceptional objects.
As you enter the abbey church, with its Gothic mountain architecture, you will be amazed by the trompe-l’oeil decorations of the 19th century and the rich furnishings.
