The chapel is dedicated to Saint-François-de-Sales et Sainte-Jeanne-de-Chantal. It was built in 1784, to commemorate a rockslide that fortunately made no casualties. The chapel is built on a huge stone (520 m3 / 680 cu yd).

St Laurent church
At first, a chapel was founded in 1438 on this place, when it was depending of La Chapelle d'Abondance. Châtel became a parish in 1643.
