La Pointe de Recon summit

    La Chapelle-d'Abondance

Pointe de Recon is one of the summits of the long border ridge to the north of the upper Abondance valley, SE of La Truche, followed east of Mouet ridge above the homonymous chalets.

This summit is easy to access from the Sevan car park by the wide 4×4 track which follows the road and which you leave at the Recon pass to climb south on the ridge itself. Note that another path starts lower on the southwest side, climbing the entire southwest ridge of the Rapenaz fore-summit from the Portes du Soleil path, which starts from a hairpin of the aforementioned track and reaches the chalets of Mouet by the southern slopes of Pointe de Recon.

Another possibility is to start from Petit Châtel and reach the chalets du Mouet by another track, then from there the Col de Chétillon below the short ridge east of the Pointe. This not very difficult mountain deserves a visit for the broad glance on the whole of “Swiss Chablais”.
